Road markings & signage

Reported anonymously at 17:09, Wed 21 October 2020

On Sunday 18th October I witnessed a near miss RTC at the junction of Longfellow Road with Wesley Avenue Westfield. A car came out of the cul de sac part of Longfellow Road without regard for a car approaching from the opposite direction and intending to follow the main road into Wesley Avenue as it priority to do.Due to the failure of the car from the cul de sac to slow down or stop it had to do an emergency stop to avoid a collision which had the potential to have serious consequences. The problem appears to be that the road markings which were recently put down to show priority of the main road are worn away. May I suggest that proper give way markings, which other side roads have, are painted on the road along with the appropriate give way sign warning motorists of the junction priority ahead. Hopefully, this could avoid any future near misses as you are aware of the parking problems with the schools using these roads as school car parks.
