Positioning of seating area on Avon Street Reported anonymously at 10:08, Fri 28 May 2021 The positioning of a seating area on Avon street has impacted the safety of pedestrians and staff unloading deliveries to the rear of the Tesco Express site. Previously the deliveries would enter Avon street and unload immediately outside the store directly into the rear of the site. Due to the positioning of what is believed to be a temporary COVID seating area, staff now have to unload cages a significant distance from the site and pull heavy cages over uneven loose and cracked cobbled pavements. This exposes them to risk of injury from cages stopping suddenly/tipping and exposes pedestrians to the same risk but also risk of collision injuries. Can the positioning of the seating area be reviewed and/or reporting person be updated with confirmation of a date the seating will be removed entirely when COVID restrictions are eased? This will allow temporary mitigation to be put in place to protect staff and the public.
