Bridleway not waymarked
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 18:32, Mon 12 February 2018
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 3 minutes later. Council ref: 1214270.
The bridleway which crosses the golf course (I believe incorrectly marked as a restricted byway on the OS Explorer map) was not waymarked when I visited in March 2017 - at least not at the northern end. Unless you have reason to believe that it has since been fixed, please can you get it waymarked from both ends.
Also, certain members of the Landsdown Golf Club attempted to deter me from using it, by challenging me somewhat confrontationally and by words to the effect that it was entirely my responsibility to avoid being hit by any golf balls. Please can you speak to the management of the club to ensure that their members are aware of the existence of this right of way and their legal responsibilities to allow people to use it safely. Whilst the Cotswold Way has been routed via other bridleways nearby, this bridleway still exists as a legal alternative, and the fact that the club has chosen to construct a golf hole across a right of way does not take away people's right to use it in safety and without harassment.
