Blocked road gully next to house no. 26 Fairways

Reported in the Blocked drain: Blockage inside drain category anonymously at 15:22, Sun 27 May 2018

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 3 minutes later. Council ref: 1323131.

Hello,

Outside my house, there is several gullies. One is blocked. Water went up this morning, up to very high. Water has just gone now. See Pictures uploaded. If another storm heavy rain will come tonight or future, the blockade will cause the water come very high again. My house is at risk. This needs to be sorted. Please advise. Thank You.

Yours sincerely, Mr Pak-Nung Wong Address: 26 Fairways, Lansdown Bath BA1 9DH Mobile: 07542015165

  • Yesterday, The property developer sent a contractor to extract a large heap of mud, sand and stuffs from the blocked gully. Nonetheless, I am advised to check with the Banes council if these road gullies will be regularly checked and cleaned by the council. Please advise.

  • I suspect the Council will clean them only when they are reported to be blocked.

  • I would like to make a formal inquiry to the council. Whom should I write to? Thanks.

  • Councilconnect@bathnes.gov.uk, quoting any reference number you have been given about this matter. If your enquiry can be framed as a Freedom of Information request it may be answered more quickly, as there is a legal requirement to answer FOI requests within 20 working days. There is a form at: https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/ form/ freedom-information-request However you will probably get the answer that because of cutbacks, there are insufficient resources to check every gully frequently. Welcome to Bath.

  • Thanks. I have emailed an inquiry to the email address you provide. Unfortunately, the FOI form website isn't working. After submitting the form, it takes longer than 10 minutes to load - I had to stop it.
