Thanks for sharing concerns about illegal use of Brickfields Park by young people on motorcycles. This is a serious issue and motorcycle use in the park is unacceptable and we want to tackle it effectively. The Council’s Parks team want to provide better access between Brickfields Park and the Linear Park as we recognise that some of the current access arrangements prevent parents with large pushchairs from getting into Brickfields Park, and make the site difficult to use for the very popular organised running events. We have also taken down a length of fencing near the kissing gate that connects Brickfields with the Linear Park as it was broken and is unsuitable for use of the site for organised activities. There may be scope to replace the fence with a gate, but before we do that it would be useful if users of the park could identify with certainty the location that motorcycles are using to get into the site, so that we can tackle the issue properly and avoid wasting money on new fencing where it might not be needed. If members of the public see motorcycles entering the site, can you please post a report on these pages to identify the location and we will take it from there. Thanks for your help. The Parks Team
