Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 4 minutes later. Council ref: 1522990.

Overgrown trees, vegetation, branches, roots and weeds are obstructing the road along the entire length of Unity Road outside McGills warehouse. The marker bollards are once again difficult to see due to the overgrown vegetation and rats are seen constantly along this stretch of road

  • This is not council owned land but is privately owned. The council is arranging to cut back the overhanging vegetation to the road edge so the highway is not obstructed.

  • However, of more concern is the vegetation which is now seriously overgrown into the road side. The road marker posts are now barely visible and it is getting dangerous to drive along this section of the highway. This morning alone, there were two large black rats seen running out of the verge and this is clearly a health hazard. Can you please let us have an accurate timescale on when the road vegatation will be scraped away from the highway in order to ensure that the residents in Unity Road have safe and secure access to their homes.

  • You advised back in February that this vegetation was being cut back. We advised in May that this problem had still not been rectified and the situation is worse now with tree branches falling into the road. Can you please advise us exactly when this work will be done. Thank you
