Blocked drain on Granville Road outside Equus House

Reported in the Blocked drain: Blockage inside drain category anonymously at 09:22, Mon 13 May 2019

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 3 minutes later. Council ref: 1627872.

Please can you clear out the gulley drains outside Equus House Granville Road both sides from Lansdown Road along to the bus shelter turning which have been blocked with construction debris particularly over the last few months as new houses opposite Equus House have been built.

If it is the responsibility of Bloor then please could the relevant BANES officer get Bloor to unblock the gutter drains so as they disperse water from heavy rain properly. We would not want flooding near to Equus house in a storm.

  • As far as we can see only one drain in Granville Road has been unblocked so the issue has not been dealt with as you say below

There are at least 3 other gutter drains which are full of debris. These drains are on both sides of Granville Road from it’s Lansdown Road entrance to the bus turning area.

Either Banes or Bloor need to clear the drains as we do not want flash flooding on this road and water entering our Equus House grounds which are on a lower level than Granville Road.

Please could this gulley drain clearing be auctioned urgently as originally requested.

    State changed to: In progress

  • I have lost count of the number of times I have reported that these drains are blocked. It’s no good sending a street cleaning lorry that just brushes the road- these drains need to have the debris sucked out.

Again I say to you THESE ROAD GULLEY DRAINS ARE BLOCKED. PLEASE SEND THE APPROPRIATE CLEANSING LORRY TO CLEAN OUT THE DRAINS BEFORE THEY FULLY BLOCK AND CAUSE FLOODING TO PROPERTY SUCH AS EQUUS HOUSE. IT’S BLOOR BUILDERS WHO HAVE CREATED THIS SITUATION OVER THE LAST 6/12 MONTHS.
