Kissing gate not functioning correctly

Reported in the Bench & Public Space Damage category anonymously at 21:00, Tue 23 July 2019

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 4 minutes later. Council ref: 1705564.

The kissing gate below Culvery Wood is not sprung loaded so its default position is not to either of its posts. Because the area allowed for people and dogs is so large around the swinging arc of the gate, the cattle in our field will be able to get into the space and walk around the gate, thus escaping! We have put a chain and notice on the gate in an attempt to stop this happening, but past experience of walkers would suggest that this will be discarded. We will attempt to reduce the space around the gate today if we do not hear that you will be remedying the situation instead. I have left a message on a council phone too, but the promised return call has not yet materialised.
