Tree to right of number 17 between fence and public footpath.
Reported in the Trees and woodland category anonymously at 14:20, Tue 10 September 2019
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 5 minutes later. Council ref: 1762770.
Tree is 1. 1 metre from fence at shoulder height and 0.7 metres from fence at base; 3 metres from bungalow at shoulder height and 2.3 metres from bungalow at base 2. one and a half times the height of the bungalow, overhangs the fence and is starting to overhang the bungalow; 3. dropping leaves, berries and twigs which are continually blocking the side drainage guttering.
Of concern also is the possibility of tree roots invading the property with subsequent serious damage.
We would venture to suggest that the tree requires severe lopping of the branches or felling completely.
We have lived here since 29 July but understand from a neighbour that the issue has been present for some time, at least 3 years.

The "fixing" gentlemen that came today apparently had a remit only to remove branches that overhang the property boundary. A large number have been removed but there are still many overhanging.
Next to the offending tree there is a smaller tree (see photo 2 on the left hand side of the large tree's trunk) that is growing up into the large one. One of the gentlemen said he could not understand why, when the smaller was planted, the larger was not felled.
It seems to us that felling is therefore the way forward. This would then alleviate any problems regarding creeping roots.

The tree has been inspected and apropriate tree works carried out. Notes will be made against this tree's record of the concerns and request from the neighbour to remove the tree. The inspector will take these concerns into consideration when next inspecting the tree, which is programmed to be carried out within the next 2 years.
