Unsafe road condition at entrance of 5 & 7 Bailbrook Lane
Reported in the Potholes & road surface category anonymously at 10:03, Thu 10 October 2019
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 2 minutes later. Council ref: 1799455.
I would like to report the unsafe road condition outside the entrance of the drives to numbers 5 and 7 Bailbrook Lane (BA1 7AH). I am a resident of number 7, and have noticed that a high number of vehicles are using the lane, particular at rush hour and this has included a number of construction-related vehicles as well as delivery drivers. Unfortunately, this has meant the erosion of the road surface at the end of our drive, which has caused the exit from our drive to be extremely unsafe when driving, when crossing the road on foot – particularly for our two young children – and when using their bicycles. The lane is on a hill and connects with our drive on the bend where many vehicles tend to pick up speed in either direction, which often causes sudden manoeuvring at the end of our drive, no doubt causing the wear and tear to the tarmac. The surface is especially dangerous in the winter time. I would like to bring this to your attention in the hope that some repair work can be done.
Could I also mention that the road sign at the west end of Bailbrook Lane is in need of replacing. The sign is very dented and unclear, and up until recently has been covered in a hedge. Perhaps this could also be looked into, and either repaired or replaced.
