Water from stream leaking onto Prior Park Road
Reported in the Dangerous road surface (including ice, mud, spillage or debris) category anonymously at 23:38, Tue 5 November 2019
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 2 minutes later. Council ref: 1833680.
This was reported earlier in the year and apparently the council attended but did not deal with the underlying cause in June/July? The problem is water bypassing the culvert and passing between the pavement and the drain when the water level rises (as it will in the winter and currently because of a slight buildup of leaves). It only takes an inch or two and the problem is all too clear. Frosts will be with us soon and the situation on the Prior Park Road pavement will be really hazardous. The 1st photo shows the water trail on Thursday 12th September. The 2nd photo shows a slight leaf buildup same day - the problem is at the left hand edge of this view. The 3rd photo shows the gap in the pavement (just off the left of 2nd photo) where water is visible bypassing the drain when water levels rise slightly - can be seen by enlarging photo. There is not much time left now before weather closes in. The above is from September 18th when I received an email saying this was being investigated but since then the link to check updates has failed. The local councillors have been and seen this problem which is becoming worse and the frosts are just about on us now.
