50 cps wide x 75cms long x 20 cms deep pothole in Upper Stanton Drew
Reported in the Potholes & road surface category anonymously at 11:05, Fri 8 November 2019
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 5 minutes later. Council ref: 1837588.
This pothole (50cms x 75cms x 20cms deep) has been here for a number of months, on the 14th October 2019 it caused an instantaneous puncture to a 3 week old tyre on my car. This puncture was irreparable and therefore had to be replaced at a cost of £162.00. If driving on the left side of road from the Pensford direction towards the school in Upper Stanton Drew, the pothole is in the centre of the carriageway and is almost unavoidable, particularly if a car is coming in the other direction on this narrow road. Also due to the fact that it is often full of water it is impossible to assess the depth accurately and take evasive action. Whilst causing a puncture to my new tyre it could also be lethal for a cyclist or motorcyclist who was unable to avoid it.
