Drain uphill of gated entrance
Reported in the Blocked Drain: Blockage inside drain category anonymously at 09:50, Tuesday 14 January 2020
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 5 minutes later. Council ref: 1936239.
The drain slightly uphill of the gated entrance was covered in gravel during the rain last night. This resulted in all gravel and debris blocking the 2 slotted drains at our entrance and running into the grounds. I was called by a neighbour at 1am and came out. The entrance gate area was flooded, and water was seeping towards the building. It had stopped raining, and the amount of water flowing down the hill was diminishing. I stayed until 2:30 to ensure there was no water ingress to the building. At this point, the water was already subsiding into soak away drains. This also happened prior to Christmas, but as the road opposite was more important I cleared the debris, and slot drains myself. Coming back at 7:30am I found all water had dissipated, but a lot of mess of gravel and mud on the entrance to the main road. Would be grateful if the drain could be checked and cleared prior to any more rain.
Thank you for your report, it will be reviewed by the appropriate team.
