The recently resurfaced road from Riverside Gardens through Staddlestones is breaking up such that patches are appearing showing the original surface. Also even though surface grit has been cleared more and more is appearing. It seems that he new surface has not been laid correctly.i

Today a road sweeper visited Staddlestones, and in the last couple of days Withies Park area of Midsomer Norton. The sweeper was sweeeping up a large amount of loose chippings and gravel from the kerbsides but unfortunately all this achieved was to move the problem further into the carriageway. Much of Staddlestones now has a heap pf chippings in a line down the middle of the road and in places is a real hazard, especially to cyclists and motorcyclists. It seems that the brushes on the roadsweeper were working but that the vacuum part of the mechanism was not and hence it just dumped the gravel back down in a different place. Nothwithstanding this issue, in the heat ofthe day some area of the carriageway have been melting. Could someone please re-sweep these roads using a more effective machine. Thanks. P. Condry, 5 Staddlestones
