Mountain biking in woodland frequented by children and dogs
Reported in the Trees and woodland category anonymously at 12:10, Sun 10 May 2020
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2110902.
Kids have been using the woodland just north of North Road for riding their bikes for a long time. Ramps have been made by piling mud and fallen branches so that the kids can do jumps. In the past, this has been confined to a small area of the woods where few people walk.
However, recently, cyclists have been frequenting these woods in groups, teens and adults alike, riding their bikes along footpaths and creating new ramps all over the place. There are now multiple ramps stretching from the North Road side all the way up to the Old Gymnasium at Prior Park. More than once in the last few weeks, I've been passed by cyclists riding through these woods and seen groups of them riding very quickly along footpaths and making jumps which could easily harm children or dogs who are running through the area.
