There is a large Ash tree in the verge half way up Blacksmith Lane on the left hand side. I don't think it is suffering from Ash die back but the base of the trunk seems to have been hollowed out by animals and I am not sure if it is stable and safe or not. Can you please arrange for someone to inspect the tree to ensure that it does not pose a possible danger? Many thanks.

The ash tree on Blacksmith Lane is on private land not owned by the council, but will have been inspected as part of the roadside ash inspections over the summer re ash dieback. If any safety concerns were identified in the inspections, the landowner will have been written to in order to inform them of their duties. If you think that this issue still requires attention, please report it again.
