'KEEP CLEAR' hatched area at the junction of Kelston Road and Charlton Road has not been repainted following the resurfacing works this week (14.05.20)

Reported in the Faded road markings category anonymously at 09:27, Friday 15 May 2020

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2116498.

URGENT - SAFETY NOTICE I live on Charlton Road which has been resurfaced this week. The road markings have been repainted, however the 'keep clear' hatched section of the junction of Charlton Road and Kelston Road has not been repainted. Please can you confirm that this will be repainted and when this will be done?

I am concerned about the safety of being able to turn out of this junction without the hatched area as there will be no visibility around any parked car/van without having to pull out into the road which is highly likely to cause an accident.

Even with the small hatched area that was in place prior to the road re-surfacing it was difficult to see around a parked car/van, so I expected without the hatched area it will be impossible. As you will be aware the speed limit at this section is 30. If repainting is going to be redone of the 'keep clear' hatched area I would request that the council consider extending it back up at least a further car length as this would make it a lot safer to pull out of Kelston Road onto Charlton Road.
