Blocked dains causing flooding and surcace water on the road cuasing collision risk
Reported in the Blocked drain: Blockage inside drain category anonymously at 10:47, Sat 27 June 2020
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2174738.
Issues: Drains consistently blocked and hidden. We are situated at the bottom of a hill so drains can't cope when heavy rain occurs. Tarmac Infront of some drains too high so water can't go in. Roads are uneven and sides of erodes have eroded resulting in inconsistent flow e.g. some sides of the road and drains not utilised.
Solutions: All drains up the hill reviewed and uncovered/unblocked. Fix drains where water can't get into. Raise tarmac or put curb/raise 'sleeping policeman' in front of entrance to Sunnyside Cottage to prevent water entering the property. Additional overflow solution that can direct excess water into ditches in fields during freak rain fall. We own fields at both sides of property and this can be an achievable solution.
