A tree in Kensington Meadows a large bough has twisted and slipped.
Reported in the Trees and woodland category by David Ferris at 14:45, Thu 2 July 2020
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2182877.
A tree in Kensington Meadows a large bough has twisted and fallen but is still attached to the tree. I wrote to Banes some years back about the safety of this tree. Previously in August 2015 a large bough fell into the lane behind the meadows. Please see attached below a copy of one of my emails.
This is the third large bough to fall from this tree, the tree is in a public space and overhangs a frequently used access. This tree needs a proper inspection to ensure that it is safe.
Re: Your ref Trees/Parks/Ferris0503 From: FERRISDM <FERRISDM@aol.com> To: Denise_Hart <Denise_Hart@BATHNES.GOV.UK> Date: Mon, 24 Aug 2015 9:30 Denise Further to my email dated 24/03/15 I reported that a tree in Kensington Meadows adjacent to the rear of number 15/16 Kensington Place had some boughs that had fallen off and were lodged in adjoining branches. You said you would inspect; however I am unsure whether you ever did. Can you please confirm that you did. Last night a very large branch snapped of this very same tree completely blocking the access to the rear of the properties, myself and some neighbour removed what we could to re-open the access; however BANES will need to come and clear this obstruction today. Also can you confirm that you think the tree is in safe condition. If someone had been walking or driving past the potential for very serious harm was there. Regards David M Ferris
