Overhanging Trees

Reported in the Trees and woodland category anonymously at 14:58, Tue 7 July 2020

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2189842.

Ash tress that border our property have grown to the point that many branches are now significantly overhanging our land. In addition there are leaning increasing towards our land making the situation worse. I believe these tress to also be infected with Ash Die Back and as a number of other tress in the Tumps area have had major branches breaking off I consider that there is an increasing safety risk with these specific.

  • Ash trees at The Tumps are being inspected annually for Ash Die Back disease and action will be taken if there is a risk to public safety.

  • I believe you may be missing the main point - the trees are significantly overhanging our land and this has been progressing over a number of years. What ever inspection is being carried out annually has failed to address the issue of the leaning trees. I am not requesting you to make an assessment of the risk to public safety, although I consider this risk does exist, I am requesting that the offending trees / branches are removed from our property.

  • Thank you for your response. Neighbours to council land would routinely be included in any risk assessment for public safety. An inspection has been arranged at The Tumps which will include the trees to the rear of the adjacent properties.
