Yellow Lines in Need of Repainting
Reported in the Faded road markings category anonymously at 15:32, Mon 3 August 2020
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2228876.
Hope this finds you well in these strange times. I contacted the council by phone on the 24th of January 2019 to make the council aware that the double yellow lines on Sion Road had significantly faded, and that this had led to dangerous parking along the road. One of your surveyors went out and agreed, putting in a request to have them all repainted. However, a year and a half later this has yet to happen. I have tried calling a number of times to get an update. The first time I was informed that the council was in the middle of changing contractors, but that the work would be completed shortly. It wasn't. The second time I called, I was put through to the person apparently responsible for this and left a message, but it was never returned.
Can someone please look at this when they get the chance? It's a very busy road, especially when schools are on as it's the only road to get out of Kingswood Prep School and the Bath Spa Sion Hill campus, and it's getting increasingly difficult (when things are normal) to get cars and school minibuses through when you have people parking haphazardly too near blind corners, or driveways, etc. I appreciate that times are anything but normal right at the moment, but I was hoping there would be an opportunity to take advantage of the reduction in traffic to get it done sooner rather than later?
Many thanks for your help in advance, and hope you're all able to stay safe and healthy.
