Culvert

Reported in the Blocked drain: Blockage inside drain category anonymously at 16:26, Mon 10 August 2020

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 3 days, 17 hours, 46 minutes later. Council ref: 2239017.

The highways have in recent years put two pipes that drain the water, tractor/horse muck, leaves/sticks, car oil etc from the road into the culvert on my property Westvale. `Prior to the highways putting in these pipes it was just a natural spring that drained into the culvert through the hole at the bottom of the culvert and under the ground, down a stream and filled wildlife ponds. Now that the highways have put two large pipes in that drain muck and water onto my land the culvert blocks with silt etc... due to debris from the road. Unless the culvert sludge is emptied annually it blocks up like it has now, which causes water to drain down the drive, moving the drive stones onto the lawn and causing damage to property. It is therefore necessary for the highways to drain the road water and muck to another site or to pay/organise for the annual maintenance of clearing the culvert to avoid it overflowing. The problem has only arisen due to the highways draining the road debris onto my property. With heavy rain forecast please can I request a prompt reply for the highways to propose a solution for this problem by either clearing the blocked culvert or moving the road drainage pipes to another site to avoid further damage to property Kind Regards Dr Carrie Adams 07904979018
