We have looked at this issue and included it in an existing programme of work. We have also referred the issue to Cleansing and requested they attend to remove the vegetation.

The camber on the B3130 approaching Chew Magna (just before Norton Lane) causes water to pool in the middle of the road preventing it from flowing down the roadside drains. This is a popular cyclist route and the water causes peletons of cyclists to swing out into the centre of the road just before the left hand bend. Cars leaving the village, often exceeding the 30MPH limit, sometimes cut the corner and I'm fearful that at some stage there will be a horrible accident. I live opposite and hear the cry of "CAR" filtering down the peleton in warning. I do not relish the prospect of being the first on the scene should the worst happen. Cycling has become more popular recently and the point has been reached when the camber must be realigned. I am supported by the Chew Magna Parish Council and have reported this to Jim McEwan of B&NES at a recent ZOOM meeting. The drains work fine following excellent work you did a few years ago but the water lingers in the road and does not reach them.

The drains require emptying and the vegetation removed as a matter of urgency as the road is still flooding on a regular basis
