Continuing problem with failed drain

Reported in the Blocked drain: Blockage inside drain category anonymously at 15:41, Thu 27 August 2020

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2266680.

This is the site of an earlier repair this year outside East Harptree Primary School but the drain failure is continuing and is evident by a hole in the entrance to the Waldegrave Arms which discharges water and the bubbling of the road surface indicating a subsurface issue. Photographs taken during a mederate rainfall event. This road was subject to an exceptionally large number of 44 tonne lorry traffic during the construction of Silver Trees, Church Lane during 2017 -18

  • This is not a blocked drain, it is a clearly collapsed drain starting up near the waldergrave arms to the BT pit and current patch. This is the same as when first reported and would have been clearly evident when they did the first patch. The tarmac is bubbling for this while 3m stretch and water appears of the bubbles and the BT chamber when it rains. Only a matter of time before a larger scale collapse. Spoken as someone who spent many years laying water mains!
