Trip hazard in the middle of the pavement.

Reported via iOS in the Pavement damage category anonymously at 15:14, Wednesday 9 September 2020

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2286578.

When virgin cabling repaired the pavements after laying cables they left a severe sharp hump in the middle of the pathway that people keep tripping over because you can’t see it’s there until you trip over it. It also doesn’t show up in photos so you don’t know it’s there. It is very dangerous especially for the elderly and it’s mostly sheltered housing here and this hump is right outside of sheltered accommodation in Wesley Avenue, Westfield, Radstock outside no.66 in front of the road sign. I did show it to a chap from virgin cables when inspecting the work but he wasn’t interested.

  • The council reported to me that it had been fixed but in fact no one has been to look at it and neither has it been fixed. Elderly are walking in the road to avoid it because you can’t see it until you trip on it. I have only ever reported one other problem and that was the removal of a bench seat that was outside the boundary of the children’s play park that was used by the elderly to rest when walking their dogs. It has now gone.
