The mature sycamore in the Locksbrook cemetery behind Nr46 Audley Grove( BA1 3BS)is continuing to show progressive loss of bark over past 2 years. Coupled with its 10 degree lean from the vertical & its vertical tension cracks through the 600mm dia trunk, I am concerned it will be blown down damaging private property & putting residence at risk! Having worked on construction of a garage below its canopy I now learn that my current lung infection could be linked to the spores from "sooty bark disease".Please advise if this tree is emitting these spores & please remove it before it causes more health or structural damage! With your agreement we could plant prickly shrubs to maintain security from the frequent dogs, that owners allow off the leash in this part of the cemetery

The Sycamore tree is inspected at regular intervals for it's condition, but in response to this enquiry it was inspected today. It was found to be in typical good health for a Sycamore tree of this age. There are no vertical tension cracks in the stem, the photo shows normal bark patterns that crack at the surface as the girth if the tree increases. The lean is a natural lean that has developed over many years as the tree has grown and the tree is stable it is not an indication that the tree has suddenly moved. No symptoms of sooty bark disease were found.
