Loosely fitted drain cover

Reported via desktop in the Manhole & drain cover damage category anonymously at 08:02, Mon 28 December 2020

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2449723.

Charlton Road has recently been resurfaced and has new drain covers fitted. One cover in particular seems to be fitted incorrectly as every time a vehicle goes over the cover it causes quite a loud clanging noise. We live several houses away from it and it is very annoying.

  • Good Evening, It would appear that the recently reported drain sounds to be getting looser as it is make so much more noise now than it did just over a week ago. It is somewhat annoying especially for my elderly mother in law who has to listen to it all night as it is not far from her bedroom window.

  • This drain cover is causing my 4 children to be up everyday at 5am and I'm a carer and need to be able to get some sleep, it is the loudest its ever been and with the general increase in traffic its deafening

  • The yellow marker on the map is in the wrong place! the loose drain cover making all the noise is 20-30 yards down the road in front of the green.
