Leaking underground drain pipe
Reported via desktop in the Flooding of a road or pavement category anonymously at 12:36, Thu 21 January 2021
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2492774.
Wales and West utilities are currently repairing a gas leak in the street outside 153 and 155 High Street, Batheaston, Bath, BA1 7DW. As part of their work to excavate the broken gas pipes etc, they uncovered a drain pipe under the pavement (c. 50cm to 1m under the pavement) that has a crack and is leaking profusely into the ground, road and surrounding area. Wessex Water attended today, and identified this as a 'land drain' rather than mains water / supply related. The pavement is excavated / currently open, so today (before it is due to be filled in again) presents a convenient opportunity for the burst drain to be repaired.
