Pavement surface damage from Hobbs Wall to Herbert Gardens

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 5 minutes later. Council ref: 2524594.

This stretch of pavement has been in poor condition and deteriorating for a number of years, but the recent wet and then cold weather, followed by the mechanical street sweeper collecting leaves and debris from the edge has lead to the tarmac being ripped up. This is a well used path by parents and children from Hobbs Wall, dog walkers, runners and people visiting the allotments. The tarmac debris and potholed path make the surface continually challenging and dangerous, especially when there is also surface ice at this time of year.

  • I reported this issue as an urgent case a fortnight ago via phone and I emailed about 20 photos, but my case doesn't appear to have been logged, fortunately someone else's has! Following the road sweeper driving along this pavement twice again this morning, the damaged areas are now even deeper than before and present a real trip hazard and danger to a pavement users. I cannot understand why the sweeper would continue to drive on the pavement given that the damage it is doing has already been reported! Please look into this as an urgent matter. Thank you.
