Need for additional Street Name Plate
Reported via desktop in the Street nameplate damage category by Bath and North East Somerset Council at 11:15, Thursday 11 February 2021
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2539692.
I have had a concern raised by a constituent who lives at Pine Court, Keynsham. The name plate for this square of grass with four houses on each two sides is in the eastern corner as. So four houses in from Charlton Road and four houses in from Longmeadow Road. As far away form driver view as it possibly could be! Problems which have been experienced in the past have been compounded by the increase in cars parked on Longmeadow Road on the southern side and the increased need for home deliveries. Delivery drivers are having problems finding Pine Court because the settlement itself is hidden in clear view with a street name plate at the mouth of Longmeadow Road that reads Longmeadow Road. For traffic coming to Pine Court the Pine Court name plate faces south so not visible to south bound traffic entering Longmeadow Rd and then concealed by parked vehicles on the latter road looking north. If delivery vehicles are coming down Holm Oak Road seeking Pine Court they will see another Longmeadow Road sign directly in front of them causing more confusion. What I would suggest is needed is a name plate on the western side of the green adjacent to and facing Charlton Road and another on the southern side of the grass square and adjacent to Longmeadow Road facing Longmeadow Road. If necessary in the interests of economy the failing existing one could be replanted in one of the two suggested locations thus only needing one new one.
