Your ref 2445100

Reported via desktop in the Pavement damage category by Steve Gratton at 19:48, Mon 15 February 2021

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2548026.

Following my report (ref 2445100) 23/12/2020 of 12+ broken/lose paving slabs outside 22 Charlotte St.Bath. Can I arrange for the damaged slabs to be replaced. I would also like to place something to prevent vehicles from parking on the pavement which has caused the initial problem. I am concerned about the strength of the vaulted cellar directly beneath the damaged area. I fear that this listed building is at risk of serious damage or of collapsing .

  • Thanks for your reply. I first reported this issue on 23/12 /20. I need this situation to be resolved as the broken slabs are allowing surface water from street level entering the substrate beneath the paving leading to issues of damp in the vaulted cellar beneath. Also cars,,delivery trucks, scaffolding lorries, parking on the pavement are contributing to further damage and weakening this listed structure I feel I will have to instruct my own building surveyor to assess the situation and I will forward you his report.
