Near miss blackspot

Reported via mobile in the Obstruction on road or pavement category anonymously at 20:15, Sun 28 February 2021

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2577938.

Due to the lack of double yellow lines on this junction, cars park immediately opposite and immediately at the entrance to St Annes, all within 10m of the junction. This causes regular near misses as the cars cause an obstruction as you enter and exit the road. It’s the only junction off St Ladoc without yellow lines and one day there will be a bad accident, there are so many near misses

  • Yesterday I drove into st Anne’s, there was a car on both sides at the entry to the road and a car immediately behind me parked on st ladoc opposite the junction. As there was a car coming towards me on st Anne’s I had to reverse back onto st Ladoc where there was oncoming traffic. The cars parked within 10m of the junction (which is not permitted in the Highway Code) are causing an obstruction and creating near accidents. All that is needed are double yellow lines. This is the only junction on st ladoc without them

  • Still causing problems this photo was enlarged but i missed the front of red car but it is clear that the car was less than 10m from st Ladocs junction as sighpost shows. Car needed to reverse onto St Ladocs to allow out going traffic nearly caused an accident.

  • Again near miss when a lorry tried to gain access to St Anne's Avenue and the red car was too close to the main junction. Lorry had to make 2 attempts to get round the said vehicles. Please get this sorted he is a menace to other road users.
