Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2617574.

About five street lights not working. Road is very dark and due to latest female safety concerns this should be a priority. Also light luminating steps between 20 and 21 Calton Gardens not working making it dangerous.

  • This was originally reported around 3rd March, not 18th, meaning that the lights have now been out around 3 weeks. It would be good to know what is happening

  • We apologise for the delay in attendance to this cable repair. We shall be requesting an update from our contractors on their attendance and when we have more information we shall add it to this report.

  • While it was good to hear on 24 March that the Council was going to ask the Contractors what was happening, almost 2 weeks later still nothing has happened. It is now almost 6 weeks that Calton Gardens has been without lights. What is happening? Have the contractors confused the problem in Calton Gardens with that in Calton Walk, where they did fix some lights (there is often confusion between the two Caltons)? The fact is, after more than 5 weeks Calton Gardens remains in darkness.

  • Our contractors have confirmed today that work is due to take place to repair the damaged cable during the 19th-21st April. We apologise for the delay in attendance and hope the lights will be working as normal after the works are complete.

If there is any further information we shall add this here.

  • Unacceptable. No street lights in Calton Gardens for over 2mths. Safety has been compromised leaving many residents upset and anxious. How will Bathnes Council reassure and compensate the residents?

  • We understand our contractors were on site yesterday and should have now completed their works. We apologise for the time this has taken and trust the lights are now working as normal.
