Most of the lane

Reported via desktop in the Potholes & road surface category anonymously at 17:05, Tuesday 4 May 2021

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2706575.

Thank you for your email regarding the completion of the work relating to my Fix my Street entry on April 1st for Highfield Lane/The Wrangle, Compton Martin. However the work is far from complete. Work was only carried out on some minor problems at the bottom of the lane near the village. Apparently the reason given for not solving the problems further up the lane was that the road would need to be closed. OK, so close the road for a day and do a proper job and make the lane safe. One wonders what we get for our rates other than a very good waste and recycling service.

I attach a copy of my original comment. Potholes over most of length of side of lane This has been getting worse for years due to complete lack of maintenance and use by large vehicles. Many of the drains are blocked resulting in the sides of the road being washed out. I have reported this in the past with no effect. 2 small potholes were filled yesterday but nothing has been done to improve the safety of this dangerous lane.
