Trees on cycle/ bridal route
Reported via desktop in the Trees and woodland category anonymously at 19:22, Thu 13 May 2021
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2721369.
The walkway has lots of ash trees. A number are dead and dying, possibly ash dieback. These are mature tress and move a lot in high winds, the walkway is heavily used by pedestrians etc. There is a danger of falling branches or the trees coming down which poses a significant risk to the public and people in gardens next to the walkway

Having seen that you are aware of a fallen tree on the cycle path behind our house (29, Ivy Walk , MSN) we reported to you over a year ago that a different tree overhangs our garden and frequently drops branches into our garden, where we sit in the evenings. We would like someone to come and assess it, as we are concerned it too could fall. It is extremely tall and would hit our house if it were to fall. If it is deemed safe to remain, we definitely need it's overhanging branches to be cut as they are a danger to us when we sit under them on our patio area.

The strip of land immediately to the rear of 29 Nightingale Way is in private ownership so if the trees are growing on this land they are the responsibility of the landowner not the council. Please see attached plan, council greenway shown in red and private land shown unshaded.

Having seen your reply, the Tree concerned is at the rear of 29 Ivy Walk, not 29, Nightingale Way.

The trees to the rear of Ivy Walk are included in the Ash Die Back inspection programme and any essential works identified will be included in the programme of works.
