Sharp metal sticking out of ground
Reported via mobile in the Park safety issue category anonymously at 21:00, Monday 17 May 2021
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2732461.
Apologies for lack of wide shot. This sharp piece of metal was clearly once part of a fence, but it is still there and sticking out and quite a danger, particularly to children. It’s located close to the flower bed (on the Victoria Park side), where there is some paving, and then a drop down to the path that runs alongside the fencing that separates the Botanical Gardens and Victoria Park. Although ideally children should not climb here and walk up to the upper level of the gardens from this lower path...they do, and I just thought how awful it would be if they tripped and fell here.
We've looked into this report and are investigating the issue. We will update this report once we decide what action to take.

The old part of the fence has been cordoned off until we can remove the piece of metal.
