It appears that there has been a significant increase in HGV and construction traffic on Old Newbridge Hill, particually since the introduction of the clean air emission charges. Residence are continuously experiencing damage to their vehicles such as scratches & broken mirrors. The road is suffering from a broken pipe that continuously leaks. Queues are now getting longer with motorist getting increasingly reckless and angry, shouting and blowing their horns. This problem will be compounded by the proposed LTN Chelsea Rd changes and when Oldfield and Newbridge Schools returns in September. There is increasing concern for the safety of school children as they cross the road and make their way to and from school. An incident occurred where a lorry's breaks failed when going down the road, a Lansdown lane type incident was averted on this occasion as the driver managed to stop his vehicle, that was leaking break fluid, but blocked the road for 2 hours. Despite raising these concerns, no action is being taken to protect property, residence or the safety of children. It is a matter of time before a major incident occurs! We welcome the Councils support to resolve this matter.

Pollution, Pollution, Pollution. This is from 1-3 on a Thursday afternoon, WHY? Ambulances struggling to move, cars on the curve, noise and pollution, this will only get worse as schools return, can someone please start to take notice and address the increasing issue.

An unrelenting and continuous flow of HGV vehicles that include cement mixers, trucks carrying fully loads, HD Tractors, flatbed and delivery vehicles all looking to circumvent the clean air charges. OHN is congested twice a day as commuters travel to and from work, the increase in HGV traffic is compounding the issue and increasing emissions. The volume of traffic is set to increase when the schools return.

This image that encapsulates all previous concerns and images that shows an HGV getting stuck trying to get down Old Newbridge Hill. Prior to the City centre clean air zone being introduced, ONH occasionally experienced HGV's now there is a daily stream as illustrated above. I imagine this issue will be compounded with the schools returning in September. Bath city centre may be experiencing cleaner air, but to the detriment of the residence and school children of the Newbridge area. When will the authorities take note?
