Overhanging brambles onto public footpath
Reported via desktop in the Vegetation overhanging a road or pavement from private land or property category anonymously at 14:51, Tue 1 June 2021
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2761426.
Brambles are overhanging well used public footpath alongside garden of 50 Whitewells Road BA1 6NZ, resulting in a member of staff from a Care Agency being scratched on the face. Luckily it missed her eye. CURO have been contacted and they assure me the footpath has been adopted by BANES whose responsibility it is to cut back the offending brambles.

The overhanging vegetation is causing a dangerous hazard to residents and visitors on this regularly used pathway. Also there is a disabled resident who lives adjacent to this, who cannot walk unaided, and is finding it extremely difficult to negotiate the brambles. I notice this problem has been previously reported. Nothing has yet been done to rectify the matter.

The overhanging vegetation is obviously a lot worse since it was first reported on 1 June and again on 12 June. It is becoming increasingly difficult for my mother who is disabled and walks with a stick to walk up the path to get to my car to enable her to attend GP and hospital appointments. Any person using the path has to duck and dodge the overgrown brambles and branches. Urgent attention is required please. A carer has already been scratched by the brambles.
