SIGNAGE ERRORS vehicles under that limit if NORMAL width cannot get through.
Reported via desktop in the Road sign damage category anonymously at 16:16, Sat 5 June 2021
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2770494.
This bridge has advanced warnings of a 9' - 6" height limit. HOWEVER the available width as seen is only 1 metre !! Any HIGH sided NORMAL width vehicle less than 9'-6" will obviously hit the bridge as they do frequently.[example tall transit box van type. UNDER the height but wider than 1 metre. I was not aware of the very restricted width which is very abnomal as only a very NARROW vehicle can get through.
Therefore on my measurement ONLY vehicles 7' and under can safely get through. The signage should reflect this especially as it is the only way through at times.
I used to take Ambulances under training as they were LESS than 9'-6" but not anymore as they can scrape the sides
