Visibility blocked when coming out of drive
Reported via desktop in the Vegetation blocking road or sign visibility - In a residential area category anonymously at 11:16, Thursday 10 June 2021
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2781908.
Cars parked all along the road and also partially on the pavement, blocks visibility so cannot see any vehicles coming down the road. Have had an accident when pulling out of drive as a motorbike went into my car and my car was written off. Dangerous as at some point ther will be a serious incident. Police officer agreed that I have no visibility at all when pulling out
This looks to be an issue with pavement parking where there are no restrictions. This being the case this is a police matter under obstruction of the highway.
That the Government recognises the national problems caused by pavement parking and their impact on pedestrians and vulnerable persons. A national consultation on this issue closed in November and I can advise that Council considers that strong action is required to address it. We are hopeful that this will see us provided with the necessary powers to take direct action where there are no restrictions. You can find out more information on this online at https://www.gov.uk/ government/ consultations/ managing-pavement-parking/ pavement-parking-options-for-change.
