Dead trees along Sleep Lane

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2782149.

There are several dead trees along Sleep Lane (approximately 5 or 6. They have all been strangled by ivy. Branches are breaking off and landing on roofs, in gardens and in guttering; in particular tree outside of The Barn and to the rear of 22 Farrier Way.

  • We've looked into this report and are investigating the issue. The trees are growing on private land and the landowners responsibility, we are investigating what action the council can take in relation to highway safety. We will update this report once we decide what action to take.

  • Not all trees are on private land; in particular the ones near The Barn property and to the rear of 21, 22 and 23 Farrier Way. Larger branches are now breaking off and landing in gutters and gardens. The roots of these trees will be weakening and if they blow over in high winds then consequences will arise.
