Ivy damaging the balustrade on North Parade Bridge

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown vegetation in Council parks and green spaces category anonymously at 16:06, Fri 11 June 2021

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2785640.

This foliage has been allowed to grow over the balustrade at the city end of North Parade Bridge. The roots will have found their way into the mortar, which will loosen it, with the result that the masonry will become loose. Unless this is tackled soon, falling masonry could cause injury or even a fatality to anyone unfortunate to be passing or seated below. This bridge is an important part of Bath's heritage - it needs resolving.
