Post on corner of Prior Park Rd/Lyncombe Vale
Reported via desktop in the Railings, bollard, & post damage category anonymously at 17:04, Fri 11 June 2021
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2785807.
The protective post in the pavement on the corner of Lyncombe Vale and Prior Park Road has been mowed down again by a dangerous driver. This is the second time in two months and it has caused considerable damage to the pavement. As it happens, this is almost the same spot where a cat was killed last week by a reckless driver. The pavement at the end of Lyncombe Vale is very low so cars often mount the pavement. There is considerable congestion coming and leaving this road at certain times because of the Paragon school at the end of it (and children who attend private schools do not seem to be able to walk). Can a more robust defence be considered for this dangerous stretch of pavement, perhaps a railing to stop cars from mounting it, or additional posts?

Further to this report please also notice that the speed restriction sign has been knocked askew (see picture) which can only have been done by a lorry or van. In fact, I have seen large lorries reversing into this side street to turn round in order to avoid going down the hill into Bath. Please note how shallow and narrow the pavement is here, and how close the road is to the house. Something needs to be done to stop cars mounting the pavement and other misuses of Lyncombe Vale before more serious accidents occur.
