Use of weed killers by the council

Reported via mobile in the Bench & public space damage category by Stella Ball at 11:28, Wednesday 23 June 2021

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2812550.

There are numerous locations throughout Saltford, but the picture is on the road that I live. The council has been spraying toxic weed killers and damaged the environment. These weeds serve as food for bees and other insects! Given the dire straits the environment is and the decline of the bee population it is completely irresponsible for the council to use such measures. What has the spraying achieved? Dead ugly plants on the pavement! Who has benefited from this initiative? No one? It is neither pleasant to look at nor it serves any good to anyone and particularly to the environment! Absolutely disgusted and disappointed with such a bad decision. I hope it is stopped with an immediate effect. I shall write to the local MP and the local media too. How does BATHNES justifies this is beyond me. You will find a petition is being prepared against the damaging effects of weed killers that the council has imposed not only on the environment but on the local residents! Stella Ball
