Inadequate signage

Reported via Android in the Faded road markings category anonymously at 22:37, Thursday 5 August 2021

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2917628.

This road changes from a 60mph descending hill into a 20mph single lane village with virtual no warning whatsoever. Road markings are faded. Signs are in hedges. I've never been anywhere in the UK where you go from a 60 to a 20 limit with no step down speed eg 40 or 30 in between. There are speed humps on the opposite ascending side of village yet nothing on the aggressive descending side. Speeding here is rife and extremely dangerous.

  • See attached photo taken by a passenger while doing 60mph down the steep hill. Minimal warning of the 20 limit. Nothing viable on the road in terms of markings. No warning of imminent width restricted single lane.
