Tree overhanging pavement down to height of 1.5m (5ft) causing obstruction of pavement.

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown vegetation in Council parks and green spaces category anonymously at 09:56, Friday 3 September 2021

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2976154.

Over hanging pavement at green space by Midsomer Norton Telephone exchange 50m south of junction between B3355 Silver Street and South Road. (Google grid ref 51.285034, -2.482141) The branches are down to a height of 1.5m (5ft) in dry conditions, this will only get worse in wet conditions forcing pedestrians to step out into the road. As has been reported before (June21) as an annual problem and whilst I appreciate trimming the minimum keeps somebody in a job more regularly, that is a waste of council taxpayers money (my money) This tree really needs trimming back sufficiently so that it does not need doing again for several years.

  • Problem is getting worse, particularly after recent heavy rains. Earlier this week I witness school children stepping out into the road to go around it !

  • This area is maintained by Midsomer Norton Town Council. Perhaps you could report it to them.

  • In response to the comment above I would expect Banes to notify the responsible person/ authorities that a problem had been reported and required action
