Traffic is held up by parked vehicles

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction on road or pavement category anonymously at 19:12, Thursday 9 September 2021

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2991231.

Due to the configuration of the double yellow lines traffic often comes to a standstill due to volume of traffic. The double yellow lines need sorting or traffic parking restrictions invoked.

  • I agree with this problem. The queue caused by the parked cars is horrendous. It needs something like double yellow lines that are active between 8-10am and then 3-6pm.

  • Builders have currently left objects on the road commandeering parking spaces and creating an extended passing area for traffic. This road blockage is resulting in the traffic backing up all the way back to The Glasshouse playing fields.

  • Please could you address the problem of people parking alongside Rainbow Wood during rush hour. It's particularly bad at the moment with the builders using cones to block off a long stretch. It's appalling for the environment as it's substantially increasing journey times and very frustrating sitting in a queue of traffic. Ideally, going forward, off road parking for Rainbow Wood would be provided but can parking be restricted at busy times in the meantime?
