Having complained about this in previous years I am disappointed to report that this tree has grown further and now hangs significantly over our wall.

It also blocks the natural light not only for us but also for those on Gordon Road.

  • The tree was inspected in September 2020 and routine works were identified to prune back the canopy from adjacent properties. However, due to the high volume of safety critical tree work that it is essential that the council carries out and only has very limited capacity to do, this work is not a high priority as it is not needed in the interest of public safety. There are Tree FAQs on the council's website regarding information on trees on adjacent land that would be helpful to you in understanding a neighbours rights in relation to trees. This is also a small to medium sized species of tree and is to the north of Laburnum so will not cause direct shading of the house or garden for the majority of the day.
