Himalayan balsom

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2996110.


I was walking by the Pultney bridge when I noticed some Himalayan balsom growing by the bankside. Although it's not a massive problem at the moment if left unchecked it could spread. It's classed as an invasive species. On the railway at least. Though I would give you a heads-up.

  • Himalayan Balsam has also reported by me (not the person above) on FixMyStreet near Grosvenor Bridge. It needs to be removed before the seeds ping all over the place, otherwise it will cover a wider area next year and reduce biodiversity by choking out native species.
