Unsafe bollard and general problems on road

Reported via desktop in the Railings, bollard, & post damage category anonymously at 14:33, Tuesday 21 September 2021

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 3015889.

We live at the house on the corner and there are constant problems with vehicles getting stuck outside our house, damaging parked cars on the road or blocking us in so we can't get out of our door. There are too many large vehicles using this road and they should be banned with road narrowing bollards. I asked for a bollard to be placed outside our house because a lorry went into it. The bollard you put there has been knocked over and is now loose and dangerous. Thank goodness it stopped whatever knocked it over from going into our house. We live in constant fear of this happening and so we are requesting tht something more substantial is put there along with road narrowing so large vehicles cannot go down this part of Snow Hill.

  • The bollard on the corner of Snow Hill and Chilton Road has still not been fixed properly after it was knocked over by a lorry. The paving stones around it are now causing a trip hazard right next to the road. This is an ongoing, dangerous problem. Our house has had out of control lories reversing into our wall. We have also had cars damaged through oversize vehicles using the street. Our front door is often blocked, making entry and exit to our house impossible. Could you put something more substantial than a bollard in order to keep us and our house safe. Please fix the bollard and the pavement and take action to prevent large vehicles using this narrow street.
